Dark Faerie

Not a proper blog, I’ll do another one of them soon, just a little something I have been messing with :D I got drunk one night, put some really OTT makeup on and decided to do some photos around a couple of trees. I had a play in photoshop and this is the result. Enjoy!

Right, now that formality is out the way I can get on with jibbering like a idiot about the new Star Trek movie
It has been such a long bloody wait for it. Too fecking long I think  especially with all the debates and rumours that have been flying around for the last 3 years on who the bad guy is  I have to admit I have took part in a lot of these debates   Before the actor was even cast for it we had a sneaking suspicion it was gonna be Khan. But, after they announced that the awesome Benedict Cumberbatch was playing the bad guy we started to wonder. Another name that jumped to the front was Gary Mitchell, the guy who goes psi badass. Hmmmmmmm

Even the actors have been tight lipped about who the bad guy is. Well, I think it has been a good thing because it has kept us nerds very interested for the last 3 years
So, after all the wait the tickets to see it finally went on pre-order.... SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!  I have being itching for this movie for ages I am a huuuuuuuuge Trekkie (yes I don't mind being called a Trekkie, I prefer it to Trekker, that sounds like a bunch of hikers to me), so going to see this movie is a must. I am one of them hardcore Trekkies who can remember obscure facts and I pick apart anything that does not fit with the Star Trek timeline so I was well prepared to hate the first of the new movies. But I was well impressed with this take on it (though I did have a few bones to pick with it  but I will leave it be since it was actually pretty good). But anyways, we finally booked out tickets to go see this new one SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! (yes, I do that a lot)
No, I didn't get tickets to go on the day of release  We wanted a meal after, that meal was gonna be sushi and Yo! Sushi is cheap on a Monday so going to see Trek 4 days after the release it had to be  especially when you have friends who had been to see it and they keep winding you up  The worst is keep telling me how awesome Benedict is and they know who he is... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
Yes, I am a Cumberbitch  (I know Benedict would prefer we called ourselves Cumberbabes, but since I don't consider myself a babe, bitch it is  Maybe I should call myself a CumberGoth.... hmmmmm). I just could not wait to see him in this movie This was one hellava added bonus to seeing this movie for this little Trekkie
Bloody hell its been a long wait, slowly going mad as I have never wished a weekend to be over so bloody quick!
I was so excited I made some false nails to go see it-

And so Monday comes, I put my Starfleet uniform on... Its a red one, but its ok, I'm in engineering  I've never wanted trailers over in a cinema so bloody quick either! And we went to see it in IMAX  I love 3D  Finally it starts and I thought my head was gonna explode!
The opening sequence was pretty damn good  I loved the volcano, but I am a geology nut hehehe. Ya knew Spock wasn't gonna die there, they can't kill off a main character 5 bloody minutes into the movie, that would just be sadistic!  The Enterprise hidden under water was AWESOME! I loved seeing her come out the water, it was beautiful!  But, seeing Benedict on the screen for the first time, in 3D, was just.... SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
I loved him just calmly walking away after the explosion in London  That just oozed cool. Oh, Whovians, did you recognise who the guy was who set off the explosion? MICKEY THE IDIOT!! We yelled that at the screen hehe
I think it was a shame they killed off Pike, but they had too really. Since he got the Enterprise back after Kirk was pretty much demoted. How else were they gonna give the Enterprise back to Kirk to go after this John Harrison? And Spock mind melding with Pike as he was dying?  Creepy.....
I couldn't believe Scotty walking out because of those torpedoes. I actually like Pegg's rendition of Scotty. People think there is too much humour with him. I think not. Since we have been watching the original movies right from the beginning we saw there actually was quite a bit of humour around Scotty, so to me he was perfect  I just loved the look on Checkov's  face when Kirk told him to put the red shirt on, it was almost an 'oh shit! I better get my will up to date!' hehehehe
So, the Klingons... I wasn't too sure about them myself. I think they looked too much like
Jem'Hadar. But I love the new bat'leths, so spiky hehe  At least the Klingon language sounded the same. And the new ships do look pretty awesome
It was John Harrison kicking all those Klingon arses on his own with that absolutely badass cannon thing that just totally fecking blew me away! How fucking kickass is this guy? It was a bit suspicious that he surrendered to Kirk after he told him how many torpedoes where pointed at him. Hmmmmmm.  I loved the bits where Harrison was locked up, he really was playing Kirk, it was just fantastic. He really fucked with him  And just how much did he just ooze malevolence? By the way Benedict, I think you should wear tight trousers like that more often

Ahem... I'm back... Sorry about that hehe
When McCoy and Marcus opened the torpedo and you see the frozen guy in there I had my suspicions on who the hell this Harrison actually is (kinda figured it out well before I saw the movie anyways, I just needed it confirmed). Finally hearing him say who he was... AAAAAAAHHHHHH! It's like I have been waiting my whole life to hear that! Khan..... Benedict Cumberbatch is Khan! Excuse me.....
Right, I'm back again  Wow... Khan... Well I screamed at the screen 'I FUCKING KNEW IT!'  Cos I did. And I have to say his performance as Khan was just incredible. And this is not just because I'm a Cumberbitch, he was really bloody good. Even my mister says so  Well when it was revealed what Khan had been used for by Starfleet I pretty much started to side with him. And after seeing that ship, the Vengeance... OMFG what a sexy beast that was  I hope we see more like it but I have a suspicion we will... but that I will talk about later... The way Admiral Marcus went on, wanting war and creating this militant form of Starfleet, I was all Go Team Khan! at this point  I was pleased he blew up the building where all this stuff was being designed. But ya know that won't be the last of that... I loved how Kirk and Khan got on board the Vengeance, I WANNA DO THAT!!!! Zoom through space dodging shit in a space suit? FUCK YEAH SIGN ME UP FOR THIS SHIT!!!  Watching Khan fight was just wow  that guy is just so much more superior and yes I did find the character rather sexy  I love how he killed Admiral Marcus.. SQUISHEE!!! hehehehehehehe. Yes I actually fucking giggled when he did that. He is sadistic and I fucking love it! oh hell.....
Right... I'm back again lol!
Ya knew when he got his people back and put Kirk back on the Enterprise that he was gonna turn on them and blow the Enterprise to shit. Oh the poor Enterprise  She really took a beating. And when Scotty said she was gone, I thought my heart would break
But Kirk steps up to save her, crawling into the radiation soaked engine core... Wrath of Khan anyone?? I swear after that it was almost word for work Spock's death scene from Wrath of Khan but roles reversed. I have to apologise, but I started laughing and could not stop at Kirk's death scene as we were reciting the script!  And Spock's shout of KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!! Set off the biggest giggling fit as I remembered Kirk's shout in Wrath of Khan.....
The Vengeance falling from the sky was spectacular! But I had a feeling someone had been reading Dan Abnett's Know No Fear... A starship falls from the sky in that one too  hehehe. Of course Khan survived the fall, he is kick ass after all I can't The Vengence falling from the sky was spectacular! But I had a feeling someone had been reading Dan Abnett's Know No Fear... A starship falls from the sky in that one too  hehehe. Of course Khan survived the fall, he is kick ass after all I can't believe Khan's blood would save Kirk, that just stretched things a little too much for me. But it is possible he was genetically enhanced enough for that to happen. Now I wanna get into genetics more, I might make my very own Khan *plots world domination*  That was one hellava fight between him and Spock. Khan had almost defeated him until Uhura shot him. Am glad he lived through and was refrozen. It means he can come back  So, Kirk is fine, Khan is frozen again and the weapons he helped create are gone... But, the Vengeance was not completely destroyed in the fall and I bet Marcus had information on these weapons elsewhere so I'm betting this stuff will rise again and I see Khan being revived for that. Hmmmmmm, wonder if they will bring Khan's wife into that. I know who would like that role.. ME!!! Khan's blood would save Kirk, that just streatched things a little too much for me. Anyways, it was a fucking good movie and I must see it again! Am so happy I finally got to see it
Well... I think am off to watch Sherlock again....
